What is a flower essence?

The British doctor Edward Bach (September 24, 1886 at Moseley - November 27, 1936) after having done research in homeopathy, has designed and developed 38 formulas: it is flower essences prepared from petals flowers collected, put in water and exposed to sunlight, preparations stabilized by alcohol (Brandy) and put into vials. Their use is, however, surprisingly, more and more widespread: the elixirs are broadcast in France in pharmacy since 1990, having been first marketed exclusively by correspondence and in health food stores, dietary etc..

Confronted with incurable cases by conventional means, Edward Bach was inspired to develop this method. These flower essences whose main objective is to stimulate the vitality and harmonize the mind, is by influencing emotional states.


Like homeopathy, flower therapy is presented as a comprehensive therapy of the individual. Flower essences are collected from healthy plants soaked in water, the sun. Preparation ELIXIFLOR:

Elixiflor complexes are prepared by incorporating various ISF (Solar Infusions Flower) in a base of sweet almond oil.

The ISF, also called mother essence, is obtained by placing just reaps the flowers of a plant species selected, in a very pure spring water and exposing them under direct sunlight for several hours. The liqud, collected after exosite sun is filtered and then mixed with alcohol before being energized by manual stirring. Alcohol acts as a preservative and preserves the qualities of the ISF for many years.
